Metaverse! Is it a fantasy or reality?

The word Meta is a known term for even a man who has not visited a metro city beyond his village. Facebook has made it done after October 2021 when they changed their corporate name. But most of us are confused about its applications and dimensions.

Talking about the perspective of reality, Everything we think of is real, and the time frame can be the parameter or the conceptualization matters.

15 years back, can you imagine 20 people can meet in a virtual place where everyone can see and talk to each other until Zoom, google meet, and Microsoft teams become familiar words? The applications of the internet also changed over time.
Coming to the point, Metaverse is not so new. in 1992, it was first described in the novel snow crash. Later on, Many online communities were developed by several companies. Second Life in 2003 is a good example of it.

Let me take you to an imaginary world to understand the concept of the metaverse. If you are a common man, is it possible for you to visit California, London, or Paris as a tourist? Even if it's possible, Can you visit every beautiful destination of the world and beyond the world in your entire life? Hopefully NO. Now let us understand, why we love to travel. Some common points are, to get over our regular daily life, geography; feel about that place, essence, knowledge, work, exploration, shopping, fun and recreation, and so on. Now If Metaverse can give you all these for your virtual trip, Wouldn't you enjoy it? But How?

With your unique virtual clone as an avatar identity, with the help of Augmented reality, AI, Social media, Virtual reality, NFTs and blockchain Metaverse is possible. 

We all know about VR glasses, motion capture gloves, digital currency, and NFTs (digital properties). We can go to that place, feel it, touch the objects,  interact with the people, can buy or sell things and be a part of this universe. Next time we can offer you a trip to the moon. NFTs (Nonfungible Tokens) are not currency, Instead, it is a secure type of digital asset based on blockchain technology. It can be a piece of song, any art, or real estate. 

Many times, We get confused by comparing the internet with the metaverse. Both are different in their way. The Internet is a network of billions of connected devices and servers. Metaverse is built on it. In the metaverse, people can live in it that mimics the aspect of the physical world. 

What you can do in the metaverse? many industries are disrupting this concept. you can travel around, meet your family avatars, attend meetings, Games, buy digital properties, real estate, transactions, and many more. As it will grow, it will fly with new wings. Facebook allocated their budget of $10 billion next year to spend to win the race. many other companies like Microsoft, Epic Games, and Nike are playing their role in it. 
As of now, the world is working on this fantasy that can be fully converted into reality.
